Look, I am my mother…*

At what point did I become my mother? I’m not saying this is a bad thing – I’m just curious to know at what point I became the person who wipes down sides, tidies other people’s desks (when other other people have messed them up – not just randomly) and generally wanders around putting things away. It’s not just me, JJ has an actual video of her doing this – mid-conversation at a workshop seminar thing she suddenly starts wandering around tidying up – completely unaware that she was doing so.

Delayed update btw, Squabble the pigeon was released about 3 weekends ago – I haven’t seen him since. Closure would have been nice 🙁

And I have a new toy! A Wacom Bamboo Fun. You’ll have to google it yourself if you care as my internet can’t be bothered to actually successfully load the page. It is so much better than my Wacom Graphire 2 (now an astonishing 10 years old). Comes with a surprisingly nice free program too – ArtRage2. I recommend.

Oh and I need to wax lyrical about a book series for a mo. If you like alternative universe fantasy medieval-esk things that aren’t cute and fluffy, Maria V. Snyder. She has three series out – the Study trilogy, it’s sequel the Glass trilogy (which can together be thought of as a trilogy of six**), and Inside Out/Outside In. IO/OI is not medieval, it’s sci-fi, but the style is very similar. I cannot commend the Study series enough – the first book is one of my favourite books in the world ever, and I read a lot of books. The Glass series is not quite as good (still great), but the last book of Glass (reading now) is fantastic and takes me back to reading the first Study book. If you like JKR or Phillip Pullman or Terry Pratchett (this is darker though – more Phillip Pullman than anything else), or dare I say it, Twilight, I recommend the Study (Poison Study, Magic Study and Fire Study) and the Glass (Storm Glass, Sea Glass and Spy Glass) series.
