Hip, hip, haw yay?

Went foraging again today – 2 mile bike ride (slowly, kept stopping to pick things). They escaped the bags but bottom left are rose hips, top middle are haws (from the hawthorne) plus leaves from the same (not edible, just hard to pick) and bottom right are sloes. And an apple. Not a bad haul! I had a lucky break with the sloes – a sloe tree had been pruned and a branch laden with sloes was dumped into a nettle patch. So I stood knee deep in nettles with effectively a tree top to harvest!

I always feel a bit illicit when foraging as loads of people pass me, but only one couple stopped and asked me what I was collecting, out of interest. Later, a squirrel shouted at me, although I think that was because I was riding past his tree rather than anything foraging related.

Now I must go sort the berries and review my overall collection and see if I have enough to make anything yet!
