My Dog :)

I got me a dog! I’d been planning it for some time, and was planning to get one in about 3 weeks time, but fate conspired to drop the perfect dog on me on Thursday, and I took her home Saturday.

Apologies for the big images – she looks less shiny when I shrink them!

She’s almost lab build but smaller.

Worried face! She was distracted today by walking on the beach, meeting my cousin, her fiance, my Nan, her neighbour, my mum, my cat-silblings (who hid), my rabbit and one housemate, but now the activity has all died down and I think she’s wondering when I’m going to take her home :(

She came from a home, not a kennels, and so came with more possessions than I do. Tomorrow we’re going for a walk, and we’re going to fix the garden fence so we can play safely in the garden. Her name’s Cindy (although I might change it slightly), and she’s 5 years old. :)

Bah. Bloody housemates. We got a new bin this week – a green one for garden waste. Now, there are limited positions for a bin given that cars need to use the drive, so I placed with the other one by the front door. Now I’ve had a non-verbal arguement with one housemate who kept moving one to the drive. I added a note saying it couldn’t go on the drive because of cars fitting past. I get this post in reply saying it isn’t hygienic and one “has to move somewhere else“. Well. I added that someone else could take responsibility for taking out the recycling and putting the bins out then. In two years I’ve never seen them take the bins out once. I would be highly suprised if the housemate in question knows when bin day is. Maybe if she contributed a little around the house I’d feel more inclined to welcome her contribution to it’s layout. Bah. Very angry.

Plane

That’s my parents, on their way back from Scilly, 15 minutes ago. I got a text from Dad (hopefully typed by Mum since Dad was supposed to be flying the plane – although he does have autopilot…) saying they were flying overhead soon and sure enough, about 2 minutes later they did. I couldn’t see the callsign even with optical and digital zoom – camera is too pants and plane is too small but there aren’t many planes that shape (egg with a narrow tail boom) with a high tail plane around. And not many that not only flew over my house just after my Dad texted but also turned slightly so they could see the house out of the window… so I’m fairly sure it was them! Surreal…

*My war cry at amusement parks is to scream “I can see my house from here!” from the top of any tall rides.

SmarterChild: How many dogs? I have no idea.

SmarterChild: 20,090,437 people live in Australia.
Kai: more people live in the united kingdom than australia?!
SmarterChild: People living in the United Kingdom are called British.
Kai: I didn’t know that!
SmarterChild: Now you do.

So anyway…

You want to talk about cows some more?
Kai: yes!
SmarterChild: Cool. I really like cows. What can you tell me about cows?
Kai: they are ruminants
SmarterChild: Cows are ruminants? That’s very interesting.

btw, you should check this out: Dairy Farming Today – Read up on life on the farm for today’s dairy farmers. (sponsorship)
Kai: a relevant link! shock!
SmarterChild: Whatever.

So moving right along…

I liked that he would rather talk about cows than about geography…

Shiny happy bunny!

After waking up with a killer headache I went downstairs to make breakfast and found a housemate asleep on the sofa. Because the kitchen and the living room are connected I initially tried to be quiet but when she didn’t wake up I didn’t bother. However I had been looking forward to eating breakfast watching some American tat on telly (got freeview downstairs) and was put out that the lounge was out of bounds. Hence probably the lack of care in the kitchen.
Later, after swearing (mentally) at my housemates giggling outside my door I had a laugh with them that cured the headache, and I ate half a pie. Which has made me feel sick. EVERYTHING is making me feel sick – this is getting most tedious. However it does help with the whole diet thing – puts me off eating. The downside is I now have 1/3 chicken and half a chicken pie in the fridge.

I was planning to go shopping today – wander over to M&S and maybe buy some clothes (gasp! shock! horror!) and maybe go to Wicks to buy a fork (for the garden – plan to do lots of digging over) but I had a headache and it rained so I gave up on that idea. So instead I played Tropico 2 (which made my headache a lot worse). I think AnM got me that one…

Now, the sun has come out, I’ve had a chat with my friend, Red and my headache is gone. Yeah I feel sick, but I’m gonna take advantage of it and have a cup of tea.

Happy ramblings. Oh and the rabbit likes chicken pie crust, as well as her usual bbq, beef and smokey bacon crisps. I have been informed by Red that a rabbit that big must be working her way up the food chain. At some point she’ll apparently become a (wo)maneater. Ah well.
