I’ve noticed a trend in my blog I need to discontinue. Tis a trend of giving you a post mortem of my day/week/month etc of facts and boring stuff. No gossip, little humour etc. That is to change, my friends!
Today was the last day I’ll probably see Mr Gorgeous at college. Unless he works Sunday when I’m also working, in which case I’ll take my bloody camera and get a shot of him all stalker-like. That’s me being stalker-like – not me taking a photo of him being stalker-like. *drool* Did I mention he was wandering around in a vest top (he works out…) on my first evening shift in June? I was behaving like a total school girl; kept making excuses to walk past where he was lifting heavy objects. I spent about an hour doing a lot of walking up and down the corridor indeed…
I honestly think my housemate was overreacting/overexagerating/pissing everyone off. Even the gittish clinicians I eventually like. There’s one for example who refers to us as fuckwits. I quite like him – he likes people who pretend to be intelligent (whether he knows I’m pretending or not is unknown). Then there’s the other end of the spectrum with the bloke I’ve named The Nice Clinician (think Monty Python, Holy Grail), and he’s a total darling who does my work for me and even gets me a chair to sit on. Then there’s the fearsome woman, who terrifies with her knowledge of EVERYTHING in great depth and her challenging interoga- … questions. She learned all of our names despite us only working together for 4 days, and she still knows them and actually asks us how we are. Conclusion – people and workplaces in general are nice. Otherwise, people wouldn’t work there. Oh and have a motto to live/work by. Mine is “Things still happen whether you are present or not. So don’t stress about always having to be present to every procedure your cases are subjected to.” although I do tend to shorten it to “Stuff happens”. The trick is being present at ones where the clinician is also likely to be present. Prioritise, people!
Enough about work and people. Sadly since I’ve been very much work-eat-sleep Kai, I could tell you about the food I’ve ate and the dream’s I’ve had, but that’s about it.
I did have an awful nightmare a few days ago, mind you. It was another of my film style nightmares, much like Ghost Ship which my housemate forced me to watch once (I don’t cope well with horror). Two blokes were on the ship’s deck by the wheel. One was sitting on the back rail, and there was a lot of foaming water behind him where the props were at work (can you see where this is going?) The other bloke was holding onto the wheel (which was horizontal and hung from the ceiling) casually. Suddenly a gust of wind/storm/evil force hit the ship and the wheel jerked a bit, knocking Mr Casual out of the way. Mr Sitting In Stupid Place got swiped by the now spining wheel so that he was hanging off it, screaming with his bottom half dangling in the foam. Mr Casual grabbed him under the arms and dragged him back on board and surprise surprise he was half the man he used to be. Mr Casual dropped his dying/dead friend on the floor, ran about 5 yards away and collapsed to his knees screaming at the sky in a very melodramatic way (though probably quite understandable considering his situation) as the camera pulled away skywards. No credits this time though.
Food-wise it’s been fairly banal. I appear to be running out. Apparently you have to go to this place called a Shhh Op which distributes edible produce in return for nominal payment. Bizarre concept but I suppose it might work.
HP out this weekend. Why am I not particularly excited? Odd. I think the huge online supply of HP fanfics complete with people writing the stories I want to read (that probably admittedly aren’t suitable for true HP books, what with them being read by kids and all) means I value the real story less. Though I do want to know what happens to Snapey Wapey. Oh I found a new fanfic archive recently – Pureblood. Tis Slyth in nature. My favourite fic so far is a sadly incomplete one – Azkaban Revisited. Worth a read if you are Slyth inclined.
I forgot to tell you about my poor pusscat! On 14th June (I think) she blew out her cruciate on one leg. Turns out poor thing has subluxating patellas and arthritis in both knees. She’s been a fantastic patient by all accounts (I’ve not been home) – she tolerated the buster collar, ignored her stitches, isn’t eating for England (she’d lost weight before the problem too!) and isn’t nagging to go outside. Compared to her neurotic incapable sister who can’t manage to pee in the tray, and she’s not even lame. Lame pusscat is now on meds for her pain and is back to being herself again – we hadn’t realised she’d been grumpy for a couple of years! *yikes*
Bored now – gonna go do stuff like eat and sleep. TTFN!
