Tomato Time

Tomato time! These guys have two weeks to ripen, otherwise they become green chutney, which though lovely may be a shame. The plants are over a metre tall and their support unorthodoxly comes from growing through the grid shelves you can see in the image, so moving them probably isn’t feasible. Some of these are huge though – I added water retention granules to their grow bag this year plus also fertiliser as as you’re supposed to, and I think it’s fed them well.

I move back to PB in two weeks – a little nerve racking as two weeks isn’t long, and the PB house is already pretty full :-/ I’m very much looking forward to giving it a coat of paint and some new carpets though, and getting a handle on the jungle of a garden; tenants really let it go. Shame it coincides with a busy time at work! C’est la vie though. A couple of friends of mine are moving in as well which should be interesting, as I’ve only ever lived with non-friends, and we’re not over-filling the house with people this time 😉

Fun fun!

Not exactly healthy, but have you ever had fried green tomatoes?

We tend to splurge around the end of the season and make them with any tomatoes that won’t survive the first frost.
