So, decisions decisions.
Job 1 – nice people, long hours, on call, appalling pay, would have to get accomodation on appalling pay meaning low funds, 3 years fixed term for job, hard work, funnels into a specific area of work with less and less opportunity to branch off, working as a increasingly specialist vet, similar to what I do now but with more work, and I find what I do now sometimes fun, sometimes incredibly stressful.
Job 2 – unknown people (probably nice), 9-5, good pay (twice what Job 1 gives), wouldn’t have to get accommodation as could commute but would get it as need to get on housing ladder (means I can live with my animals again – v. important), no fixed term, unknown work level (probably easier), doesn’t cut off other areas of work immediately but is working as a teacher of vets rather than as an actual vet.
To complicate issues, for Job 1 I need to decide now, whereas Job 2 isn’t advertised and may not be advertised when I finish this year in Nov.
Eck.
What’s option 3?
😉
Job 2 sounds better – you get to be with your animals.
I was going to say what Kirsty said – for the same reason 😆
So instead I’ll have to second it 😀
If Job 2 isn’t even advertised yet, could you not apply for Job 1 as you’re likely to get it, and apply for Job 2 when it comes up, resign if necessary and bide yourself more time while keeping options open…?
after discussions yesterday i recon number 2 sounds peachy! I checked my phone after you left and you dad had texted me too to ask you to check your phone! OOPS!. And i forgot about the clocks!
