Padding – using them, protecting, and getting rid of some.

I was dithering whether to get a bit techy and get a pad. Dithered between iPad2 and Asus Transformer Prime. Still dithering as I don’t need one. However I want one. Such is the everlasting conundrum of being a techy type of person.

It is also P#1’s birthday in the coming days, and I recommended she get a Kindle. Not a Fire, just a normal e-book reader. She’s consuming books at an alarming rate at present and will soon be forced to live in the garden as books fill her room. Having suggested a Kindle, I decided to make her a Kindle case. If she ends up not getting one, she’ll just have a large and impractical phone case or purse.

It has alternate bobbles, which don’t photograph well, despite no flash (explains dull-ness of photos also – it’s really quite a vibrant red. She likes red). Bonus cookies if you can read what it is I am reading atm. It was free, as it is fairly old, but oddly it is also topical.

We went to Cantebury yesterday to shop and celebrate Ding’s 28th – it was rather lovely! We ate at ABode, a Michael Caines restaurant (Masterchef winner from years ago). Rather lush, but they do a surprisingly affordable early bird menu. Although I ordered off the a la carte (still only £50 all inclusive, despite us being over charged for the wine). The food is generally phenomenal. I believe Ding enjoyed her day!

I’m thinking of joining Slimming World – we have a group literally around the corner from us, and I think sometimes you need some incentive to behave/stick to the plan. Gymming I have no issue with – more than happy to go running, which is never something I thought I’d say – but still need to work on the food and drink side of things.

In other news, Thomas looks to be a diabetic, but perhaps (hopefully… ideally…) a lucky one. He’s borderline on tests so we’re hoping he’s one of those cats that can be controlled by diet alone. He’s going in to start insulin this week to give his pancreas a chance to heal, and then we’ll see about trying to control with diet etc. We shall see. I do pity the poor vet who has to deal with me as a client – I’m probably a nightmare.

I have a plan for writing up – it starts tomorrow. I’m feeling positive. Be interesting to see if I achieve my short term goal of a chapter done three weeks from now.
